The University of Exeter VSimulators team have commissioned Rowe Films to create a video demonstrating the recently opened and operational commercial and research facility in action.
Filming took place at the state-of-the-art facility at Exeter Science Park, which has the capability of replicating a range of commercial and research environments either physically or virtually, immersing research volunteers in a simultaneous experience.
Action sequences were filmed on the VSimulators motion platform, with demonstrations by people moving on the platform, using motion capture markers that collect human movement data.
Filming also included conversations with industry and academic users of the facility, about the various multi-disciplinary research areas, such as engineering and health and wellbeing, which are being explored, and the journey to creating VSimulators.
As well as members of the Exeter VSimulators team, interviewees included Professor Sallie Lamb, Mireille Gillings Professor of Health Innovation at the University of Exeter Medical School and Roy Denoon at CPP Wind, an industry specialist in wind engineering.
The aim of the video is to demonstrate the capabilities of the VSimulator to parties interested in using the facility, until it is possible for us to host a physical launch, giving attendees the chance to experience the facility for themselves.
Once completed, the video will be uploaded onto the VSimulators website and distributed to parties who have expressed an interest in using the facility. A shorter, more dynamic version will be simultaneously produced for use on social media.
